CNG-FHNG Awarded Templeton Prize

May 30, 2018

We would like to share with you the wonderful news of CNG´s recent recognition as an awardee of the Templeton Prize for Best Practices in Character Education in Latin America, for the project entitledFundación Hogar Nueva Granada (FHNG).

This award seeks to recognize outstanding Character Education projects in secondary schools that motivate teachers and students to become actively involved and impact their surrounding communities, through the dissemination of good practices. CNG received one of the six prizes granted each year among schools throughout Argentina, Colombia, and Mexico.

Our awarded project presented the numerous channels through which CNG and FHNG have sought to provide all members of the community (students, parents, faculty and alumni) with spaces to serve others while developing their solidarity, empathy, and leadership skills among others.

In addition to the recognition from the Templeton World Charity Foundation, the learning journey and experience acquired in developing this proposal significantly contributed to preparing CNG in its process of working with character.org to become a certified School of Character.

We would like to thank our entire community for supporting our ongoing work in Character Education at CNG and the FHNG.

Sincerely,

Johanna Hjerthén | FHNG Director

Eric Habegger | CNG Director
