Colegio Nueva Granada goes back more than seven decades

Arriving from England in 1938 at age six, not knowing a word of Spanish, I enrolled at the Anglo-American School along with 20 some grade school students. Colegio Nueva Granada, as the school is known today, now has almost 1,800 students attending elementary, middle and high school. CNG is Colombia’s largest American style college preparatory school, fully meeting U.S. accreditation standards as well as Colombian Ministry of Education requirements; 4 out of 5 students are international – 1 out of 5 from the U.S.

Christian (Mickey) Zozaya, my classmate, shared nostalgic recollections of CNG early years, thus making this article possible.
